Official Supplier of the Formal and Team Reception Uniforms for PyeongChang 2018

Official Announcement

For the first time, Total Image Group will be proudly dressing the Australian Olympic Team and Officials in their Formal and Team Reception Uniforms for PyeongChang 2018.

When designing the uniform, Total Image took into consideration the image, demographic of the team and the climate conditions in which the uniform will be worn.

Total Image wanted the design to reflect the essence of the team-confident, modern and fresh. The pieces in the uniform range consists of tailored timeless styling and will be manufactured using superior natural fibres and exceptional workmanship, ensuring the athletes and officials not only look good but are comfortable and proud in their uniforms.

The Design Story

Total Image also wanted the design to reflect the essence of the team, which is confident, modern and fresh, whilst still representing the Australian culture.

The Olympians are energetic and gutsy, which is why we concentrated on the fit of the garments. We wanted them to feel comfortable in their formal wear and so the fit had to be perfect.

The Mood

“When designing the uniforms, we immersed ourselves in all things Australian and all things winter and created a mood board to set the tone for the design direction”

Storyboarding

The design brief, mood board and fabrics are paramount in pulling the design story together.  The Total Image graphics team then works to create a visual representation through story boards of each piece in the range.

The Look

The pieces in the Australian Olympic formal wear range consist of tailored timeless styling and are manufactured using superior natural fibers and exceptional workmanship.

The suiting is a 100% Australian Merino Wool fabric in a dark Navy. The navy is textured and complimented by small brass buttons embossed with the Olympic logo. Following tradition, the men’s and ladies suit jacket lining is printed with all the Olympians from previous years.

Both the men’s and ladies’ suits and shirts are a tailored fit, ensuring the suit is flattering on all shapes. For the ladies the jacket is designed to be collar less and shapely for a feminine feel.

The shirt is a blue window pane check – classic yet contemporary and can be styled formally with the suit or casually with the taupe chino pant. Both the shirt and chino pant have a navy contrast detail in the cuff and collar tying it back to the winter navy and suit.

The Result

Working with a navy suit as the base for the range ensures the suit will stand the test of time, always classic and understated. The white and blue check shirt adds edge to the look transitioning the uniform to contemporary and fashion forward.

All pieces are finished with a shining gold Olympic Emblem and the subtle glimpse of green through the lining of the blazer as our athletes and officials walk or move.

The story of winter comes into play with the 100% Australian Merino Wool jumper in a dark green, soft and comfortable. Designed to be worn casually with the chino or formally as an alternative to the suit jacket. The final collection, a mix and match range with a choice of pieces that can be styled to be smart casual or formal subject to the event.

The Packaging

To complete the collection, Total Image designed contemporary, high end packaging including suit bag, garment box and bag.
