8 Corporate uniform must haves

Getting dressed for a corporate job can sometimes be a real challenge, especially if you’ve just started in the business world. That’s why we’ve come up with a list of ’business uniform must haves’ – essential corporate uniform clothing that should be hanging in your closet. Once you’ve taken care of these basics, you can simply rotate them around with other items you have in your wardrobe to complete your stylish business uniforms, such as basic long sleeve and short sleeve tops, blouses and cardigans.

  1. LBD

2. Crisp white shirt

Go for a fitted white shirt that has a nice cut and looks flattering on your figure. The plainer the better, so you can dress your look up with accessories instead of an overpowering frilly shirt. Choose easy care shirts so you’ll always look your best, even if you’re in a hurry.

3. Blazer

’Black, red or white, a blazer just screams corporate. Whether it’s a crop version to accentuate your waistline, short or long, a blazer will dress up your business uniform in an instant. If you prefer a more relaxed look, go for ¾ sleeve lengths or roll up your sleeves and wear it unbuttoned.

4. Slim pants

Patterned, striped, black or even white, a slim pant is a fashion necessity this season, especially for your corporate uniforms. Comfortable, slimming and stylish, you ’can’t go wrong with slim pants, and when you choose a wool blend, they’ll keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

5. Knee-length skirt

A knee-length skirt is a corporate uniform must have. Choose a black or charcoal skirt that has a nice fitted look and a style that complements your body shape. Wear it with black or skin-coloured stockings or go without. There are many different skirts to choose from in our business uniforms range, such as high waisted pencil skirts, relaxed fits and pleated or flute styles. Again, you should opt for a wool blend fabric for trans-seasonal wear.

6. Classic Trench

The trench is a staple that never goes out of fashion for business uniforms. It’s trans-seasonal and will last you for years. Go for a soft beige or camel colour to break down your black corporate attire and match almost any colour.

7. A statement piece

Invest in a nice Michael Kors watch or colourful pieces of jewellery such as necklaces, earrings and bangles. Corporate clothing can be a little bland at times, so a statement piece will give your uniform a classier and fresher look.

8. The pump

Not too high and not too low, a mid-sized heel will ensure you look fab all day without killing your feet. A 7–10 cm heel is ideal for daily comfort, and a small platform at the front of the shoe will take away your walking heel height and keep you even more comfortable. Go for a soft pointy or softly rounded toe and a patent leather finish – this will add that extra touch of class to your corporate ensemble.
